The Emerald Snow Loropetalum from the Southern Living Plant Collection is a unique green-leaved Loropetalum that features creamy white blooms in spring, occasionally re-blooming in summer and fall. Growing only 4-6' H x 3-4' W, these dense shrubs produce a layered growth habit requiring little pruning. This dwarf specimen is great for planting in the landscape in mass plantings, low-hedges, on slopes, foundations, and as accents and can also be used in mixed container gardens. Emerald Snow will thrive in USDA zones 7-10 and will grow best when planted in well-drained, slightly acidic soil in an area that will receive full sun to part shade. When planting this Loropetalum, dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil, then leave the top of the root ball 1/2 inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow release granular fertilizer in Spring. Not guaranteed to be in bloom on arrival.

  • Emerald Snow Loropetalum with green foliage and a compact mature size that is much more manageable than other Loropetalum shrubs
  • Use the Chinese Fringe Flower as a specimen, foundation planting, hedge/screen or even as a container plant to accentuate entryways
  • Full sun to part shade lover that is easily grown in soil that is fertile, moist and well-draining. More sunlight will lead to more/healthier flowers and fuller foliage
  • Winter hardy in USDA zones 7-10. Provide winter protection to shelter from frost and cold winds
  • Very low maintenance plant once established. Requires little pruning except for the deadheading and optional shaping if you would like
  • Water twice per week until established. Once established watering can be reduced to an "as needed" basis based upon the soil. Once the top layer has become dry you can safely water again
  • Fertilize in spring with slow-release granular fertilizer
  • The Emerald Snow Loropetalum is featured in the Southern Living Plant Collection
  • Average Shipping Size: 10-16 inches tall X 10-16 inches wide
  • Not guaranteed to be in bloom on arrival
  • Ships from Alabama - Customers beyond the Southeast US should place orders from early fall to late spring to avoid heat damage in transit
  • Placing a large order? Consider ordering 1-2 plants to ensure that they will meet your specifications before placing the order for the entire project
