Before the children are allowed to read from the book they should have much blackboard reading based upon the Mother Goose rhymes which are here used. Each rhyme in the book is preceded by a full-page illustra tion. The children will readily talk about the picture, and will then be eager to read the simple sentences which follow the rhyme, and conclude with a prose version of the rhyme, a page of review sentences, and a page of action sentences.
